Veteran's Day has always had a special meaning to me. My Dad was killed in the Korean War when I was 13 days old. As a young adult attending Veteran's Day Memorial services, I recall the the pride, dignity & sadness I would feel watching my Grandmother, along with other Gold Star Mothers, place a wreath at the foot of the tombstone of our county's fallen soldiers. Each Soldier's name killed in service to their country was listed by the conflict they had fought.
Freedom isn't free.
My hometown held a Veteran's Day Parade on Veteran's Day. When I moved away from my hometown, I missed attending the parades. I decided to create my own version of the Veteran's Day parade. With the help of my Facebook friends who provided me photos and information on their family members who were Veterans. I created a slideshow to honor each Veteran. The outpouring of generosity of Veteran's family members & Veterans was such an honor for me to create my photos & slide show.
* Editor's note*
If you play the slideshow while viewing the Veteran's slides the music will enhance your viewing experience.
